Ashton Whitty and Asia Argento
Ashton Blaise Whitty (born October 1st, 1995 at Berkeley California) is an actress. She is an actress well-known for Choices (2010), The Heart and Other Small Shapes (2006) as well as Chrissie Mayr's Content House (2022).
Asia Argento began her career as an actor as an actress in Rome. She is part of a family that also comprises of film makers. As a young girl and acting, she made her debut in Sergio Ciotti's film Sogni e Bisogni. in 1988 she played the lead role in Cristina Comencini's first feature film Zoo. Additionally, she was an integral part of Michele Soavi's casting in The Church. The following year she played Nanni Moretti's daughter Red Wood Pigeon It was in the film Close Friends written and directed by Michele Placido, that Asia's career really took off and she could transition from roles that were played by young girls, to more complex, mature role. The film received a great reception in the Cannes International Film Festival. In Trauma she appeared in her first film with her father, the renowned Italian horror director Dario Argento Her mother is one of Argento's favorite actresses, Daria Nicolodi, playing an anorexic girl in search of her parents' murderer. Asia's intense and absorbed acting skills were put to good use in Giuseppe Piccioni's Condannato a nozze. She co-starred with Carlo Verdone in Perdiamoci di vista as Arianna an actress who is physically disabled. This intricate and difficult character earned her the David di Donatello Award for Best actress. She worked in Peter Del Monte's Compagna di viaggio with Michel Piccoli, which won her the David di Donatello award and a Grolla d'oro. In 1994, Asia began directing and turned out two short films in the episode of the film De Generazione In 1996 she directed a documentary on her father and, in 1998, one on cult director Abel Ferrara, AbelAsia which won an award at The Rome Film Festival. In 1999 Asia was the first to direct a feature film by directing Scarlet Diva where she was the leading actress as well as the writer of the screenplay. The film premiered in the month of May in Italy and the rest of the world. It won an award at the Williamsburg Film Festival in Brooklyn, New York.
